In a grand palace filled with sparkling treasures and colorful tapestries, Emperor Akbar sat on his golden throne, a twinkle of mischief dancing in his eye. The court buzzed with excitement as courtiers whispered and giggled, eager to see what the emperor had planned. With a sly smile, Akbar turned to his wisest advisor, Birbal. "Today, I have THREE clever questions for you! Solve them all, and you'll be hailed as the smartest in the land! But if you fail, you must admit defeat!" The courtiers leaned in closer, their hearts racing with curiosity.
The first challenge began! Akbar asked, “What is it that even the sun and moon cannot see?” The room fell silent, and the courtiers scratched their heads like puzzled chickens. How could the mighty sun and moon miss anything? But Birbal, with a sparkle in his eye, answered, “Your Majesty, it is darkness! When the sun shines bright or the moon glows in the night, darkness runs away like a shy rabbit!” Laughter erupted in the hall, and Akbar clapped his hands in delight. “Bravo, Birbal! You’re off to a fantastic start!”
Next came Challenge Two. Akbar leaned forward, his eyes narrowed with intrigue. “What is the difference between truth and a lie?” The courtiers gasped, scratching their heads anew at such a tricky question. But Birbal, with a playful grin, spread four fingers wide. “It’s just four fingers apart, Your Majesty! The truth is what you see with your own eyes, while a lie might be just a whisper in your ear!” The court erupted into cheers, their eyes wide with wonder at Birbal's cleverness.
Finally, Akbar stood dramatically, swirling his royal robes. He drew a long line on the floor with a piece of chalk and announced, “Make this line shorter without touching it!” The courtiers gasped in disbelief. How could anyone do that? Birbal, calm as a gentle breeze, stepped forward. He picked up the chalk and drew an even longer line beneath the first one. “Look!” he exclaimed with a cheeky smile. “Now your line seems much shorter compared to mine!” The hall was filled with awe, and then, like a sudden burst of laughter, cheers broke out! Akbar nearly tumbled off his throne, laughing heartily. “Birbal, you are truly the cleverest in my kingdom!”
And so, the emperor and his courtiers celebrated Birbal's brilliant mind, realizing that sometimes the trickiest challenges hold the simplest solutions, if only one dares to see them from a different angle.
