In a sunlit meadow, where golden wheat danced like waves in a sparkling ocean, Mother Lark made a cozy nest. Tucked safely among the tall stalks, her home was filled with the joyful chirps of four fluffy chicks, all dreaming of soaring high in the sky. Every day, they flapped their little wings, eager to explore the world beyond.
One bright afternoon, Mother Lark returned from her hunt for yummy bugs, only to find her chicks fluttering in panic. “Mama! The Farmer came today! He said he’ll ask his NEIGHBORS to help harvest the field!” They chirped, eyes wide with worry. Mother Lark tilted her head, a calm smile on her beak. “Don’t worry, my little ones. Neighbors take time. We are safe for now.”
Days flew by, and the wheat grew heavier as the chicks grew bolder. But one evening, as a gentle breeze whispered through the leaves, Mother Lark returned to find her chicks trembling again. “Mama! The Farmer is asking his RELATIVES for help!” they squeaked. With a knowing nod, Mother Lark reassured them, “Relatives can be just as slow. We still have time! Now, let’s practice flapping those wings!”
As the sun painted the sky with orange and gold, the chicks practiced every night, their wings growing strong. But one sunny morning, they burst out with excitement. “Mama! The Farmer came with his SON! He said he will do it himself TOMORROW!” Mother Lark’s heart raced. “Now we must hurry! When a man decides to do it himself, he means business! Flap your wings and get ready to fly—NOW!”
With newfound courage, the chicks flapped and hopped, tumbling but finally soaring into the bright blue sky, their cheerful chirps ringing out like magic. As dawn broke, the Farmer and his son stepped into the field, scythes shining in the morning light. But when they reached the nest, they found only soft feathers swirling in the breeze. The nest was empty, and the golden wheat giggled softly, swaying in delight.
Mother Lark’s chicks danced joyfully in the air, celebrating their new freedom. They had discovered that when you spread your wings and take charge of your own dreams, you can achieve anything!
