Once upon a time, high above the world, there lived a grumpy North Wind who swirled and twirled through the skies like a dancing tornado. “I am the STRONGEST thing in the whole world!” he roared, rattling tree branches and shaking rooftops as dark clouds scuttled away in a hurry. Meanwhile, the cheerful Sun beamed down, casting a warm, golden glow over everything below. “Being strong doesn’t mean you have to be loud,” the Sun said softly, his rays twinkling like stars.
The Wind, furious at the Sun’s words, challenged him, “Let’s see who can make that Traveler down there take off his warm cloak! I’ll go first!”
With a mighty breath, the Wind puffed his chest and howled. WHOOOOOOSH! A freezing blast whipped through the air, hitting the Traveler like a chilly wave. The poor Traveler gasped, pulling his cloak tighter around himself. “Ha! Watch this!” Wind cried, blowing harder. WHOOOOOOSH! The cold air swirled around him, but the Traveler only huddled deeper into his cloak, determined not to let go.
After trying and failing again and again, Wind finally stopped, panting in disbelief. “Your turn!” he huffed, glaring at the Sun.
With a twinkle, the Sun peeked out from behind a fluffy cloud. He warmed the air gently, like a soft hug, filling the world with a cozy glow. The Traveler looked up, feeling the delightful warmth on his face. With a smile, he loosened the clasp of his cloak, then slipped it off entirely, draping it over his arm.
Wind’s jaw dropped. “How did you do that?” he stammered.
Sun chuckled, his light sparkling like magic. “I showed him warmth and happiness,” he said kindly. As they watched the Traveler stroll happily down the road, Wind felt a flicker of understanding in his heart. From that day on, Wind learned that sometimes, a gentle touch works wonders, turning grumpiness into friendship, and the Sun continued to shine brightly, spreading joy to all.
