Fireflies fluttered through the night, twinkling like stars in the dark, magical forest. In the heart of this enchanting place flowed the mighty river Mandavini, known for its shimmering waters that held ancient secrets. Each year, the river called three brave souls to its banks to make a special vow. This year, excitement filled the air as three friends approached the sparkling shore.
First was Mita, a spirited girl with hair that flowed like silk. With a determined gleam in her eyes, she declared, “I vow to never tell a lie!” The river rippled, glowing even brighter. Next came Rajan, tall and proud in his bright red scarf. He raised his chin and promised, “I will never break a promise!” The water swirled around him, acknowledging the weight of his words. Finally, little Suresh, full of daring energy, shouted, “I vow to help anyone who asks!” The river gurgled joyfully, eager to see how their vows would unfold.
But soon, the river wove tricky challenges for the friends. One day, a sneaky thief hid the chief’s stolen ring in Mita’s basket. When the chief accused her, she gasped, “No, I didn’t take it!” But the villagers turned away, their doubt like heavy stones on her heart.
Meanwhile, Rajan faced a tough choice. He promised to visit his sick father at sunrise, but when he heard a splash, he saw a child drowning in the river! Without thinking, he jumped in and saved the child, but when he got to his father, he found him alone, waiting.
Little Suresh encountered a bandit asking for help to carry a mysterious bundle into town. Suresh, sensing danger in the bandit’s eyes, bravely refused, breaking his vow but keeping himself safe.
As the year ended, the river called them back. “Which of you broke your vow?” it whispered, its voice like rolling thunder. Vikram, a wise protector, listened carefully. He explained how Mita had told the truth even when it hurt her, how Rajan had saved a life, and how Suresh had chosen safety over danger.
The river swirled with excitement, realizing the true essence of their vows. Each friend had faced difficult tests and had shown true courage. With a final splash of water, the river blessed them, shimmering brighter than before. The friends smiled, knowing they had learned something special about their promises and the strength of doing what is right, no matter how hard it was.
