The Three Princes and the Princess Who Chose

Arabian Nights Tales

A classic tale retold for young readers — full of wonder, magic, and timeless wisdom.

In the dazzling land of Samarkand, there lived a brilliant princess named Zara. With hair as dark as the night sky and eyes twinkling like stars, Zara was not only beautiful but also clever and brave. She could read maps, solve tricky puzzles, and even speak five languages before turning fifteen! But there was one thing she didn't want: to be won like a prize by a prince.

One day, her father, the Sultan, called for three princes from faraway lands to embark on an adventure to win Zara's heart. The prince who returned with the most extraordinary treasure would marry her. With excitement swirling in the air, the princes set off on their quests.

The northern prince, tall and strong, soon returned on a gleaming crimson Magic Carpet, shimmering with twinkling golden stars. “Look!” he shouted, soaring into the sky. The others gasped as he flew around them, leaving trails of sparkles behind.

Next was the eastern prince, who arrived with a sparkling Crystal Sphere. “Gaze into it!” he said, his eyes wide with wonder. The sphere flickered with images, showing magical places all around the world.

Finally, the western prince returned, looking humble but hopeful. He held a glimmering Silver Apple, its sweet scent wafting through the air. “This apple can heal anyone!” he declared proudly.

But suddenly, the eastern prince gasped. “Zara is sick! We must hurry!”

Without a moment's hesitation, the northern prince shouted, “Hop on the carpet!” WHOOSH! They flew to Zara's side, where she lay pale and still. The western prince gently held the Silver Apple to her lips, and as she inhaled its fragrant scent, color returned to her cheeks. Zara’s eyes fluttered open, and she smiled!

As the three princes stared in awe, they all wondered who should win her heart. Zara, now full of life, looked at the western prince, who had given everything he had. “He sacrificed his treasure to save me,” she said, taking his hand in hers. The Sultan beamed with pride, knowing his daughter had chosen wisely.

Zara had realized the true magic of love — it’s not about winning or treasures, but about the kindness that comes from the heart.
