The Three Kings and the Demon

Vikram & Betaal Tales

A spine-tingling Vikram and Betaal riddle — where a brave king must answer or lose everything!

The moon glowed brightly, casting a silver light over a grand palace where Princess Mohini lived. She was loved by everyone in the kingdom, and soon, three brave kings arrived to win her heart. The first king had magical eyes that could see treasures hidden far away. The second king zoomed in a marvelous flying chariot made of shimmering clouds, and the third king, a strong warrior, had muscles like steel and a heart full of courage.

But just as the kings were introducing themselves, a loud CRASH echoed through the night! The ground trembled as a fearsome demon broke through the palace walls, its fiery eyes searching for Princess Mohini! With a roar that shook the stars, it snatched her away, leaving the kings gasping in shock.

“Stay close!” shouted the first king, closing his eyes to use his magic. “I see her! She’s trapped in a dark cave beyond three great mountains!” The second king leaped into his flying chariot, calling out, “Let’s go!” They soared through the night sky, racing to the cave, but when they arrived, a chilling sight awaited them—bones were scattered everywhere!

Suddenly, the ground shook again, and the enormous demon appeared, towering over them! The first king’s heart raced, and he turned to flee, while the second king followed, fear gripping them both. But the brave warrior stood firm. With a fierce yell, he drew his shining sword, and the battle began! He dodged the demon's massive claws, striking with all his might. SLASH! His sword cut off one claw, then another! Finally, with a mighty blow, the warrior defeated the demon, and it fell with a thunderous crash!

With the danger gone, he rushed into the cave and rescued Princess Mohini, who beamed with gratitude. “You saved me!” she cheered. The sun began to rise, painting the sky with vibrant colors. The warrior turned to the other kings, and they all realized something important. It wasn’t just about being clever or having fancy things; it was about being brave when it mattered most.

In that moment, Princess Mohini chose the fearless warrior, knowing that true courage shines brighter than all the magic and cleverness in the world.
