The Goose Girl

Magical Fairy Tales

A magical fairy tale filled with enchantment, bravery, and a lesson that sparkles forever.

Once upon a time, in a sparkling kingdom nestled high in the mountains, there lived a lovely princess named Elara. With a heart as gentle as a morning breeze and laughter that twinkled like stars, she was adored by all. One sunny day, her wise mother, the queen, gifted her a special white handkerchief marked with three drops of royal blood. “This will keep you safe on your journey to the prince in a faraway land,” she whispered. Along with the handkerchief, Elara was given a magnificent horse named Falada, whose voice was as soft as a lullaby.

But lurking in the shadows was a jealous lady-in-waiting with a wicked plan. As Elara bravely rode through the shadowy mountains, the lady-in-waiting suddenly demanded, “Give me your beautiful gown and your splendid horse!” Terrified, Elara had no choice but to agree, and soon she found herself dressed in rags, left behind to tend to the royal geese. The lady-in-waiting galloped off to the palace, ordering Falada to be silenced forever.

Heartbroken, Elara came up with a clever idea. She convinced a stable hand to hang Falada’s head above the city gate, where every morning he would whisper to her, “Dear mistress mine, what is it that you do? If your mother could see you, her heart would break in two.”

One day, the old king saw Elara tending to the geese and grew curious about her sadness. When he summoned her to the throne room, she could only say, “I cannot tell, for I swore silence.” The wise king suggested she speak to the iron stove. Elara whispered her secret, and the king listened closely.

The next day, a grand celebration burst forth in the castle. Dressed in her sparkling royal gown, Elara stood before the crowd, and the prince’s eyes widened in recognition. The joyous music filled the air, and as the truth of Elara’s bravery and spirit shone brightly, the kingdom rejoiced. And so, the story of the goose girl who became a princess spread far and wide, reminding everyone that even hidden truths will eventually light up the darkest corners.
