One sunny afternoon, a golden feather appeared on the path ahead, shimmering like a tiny sun. “Leave it, master,” warned Star, his voice deep and steady. “That feather might lead to trouble.” But Ivan, curious and excited, picked it up. Suddenly, Star’s mane bristled with a shiver.
When Ivan showed the feather to his father, the greedy Tsar, his eyes glimmered with desire. “Fetch me the Firebird from the forest!” he roared. “Or else!” Ivan gulped, feeling a twist of fear. “Don’t worry,” Star whispered. “We can catch it if you listen.” With hope in his heart, Ivan followed Star’s advice and scattered golden apples in the Firebird’s meadow at dawn.
As the sun peeked over the trees, the meadow sparkled. Suddenly, with a burst of colors, the Firebird swooped down, its fiery feathers glowing! In a whirlwind of feathers—WHOOOSH!—they captured the magnificent creature and hurried back to the Tsar. But the greedy Tsar didn’t stop there. “Now, bring me the beautiful Princess with hair like sunlight!” he demanded.
Ivan’s heart raced. Off they galloped, Star’s hooves thundering across the waves, and soon they found the lovely Princess. “I will marry you if you make yourself handsome again by bathing in three magical cauldrons!” she declared. Ivan felt a flutter of worry, but the Tsar was impatient and pushed Ivan to go first.
Standing before the bubbling cauldron of boiling milk, Ivan trembled. “I can’t do it!” he cried. But brave Star whispered, “Trust me, my friend.” Taking a deep breath, Ivan jumped in—SPLASH! A burst of steam surrounded him, and when he emerged, he glowed brighter than ever!
Seeing Ivan’s transformation, the greedy Tsar couldn’t wait and jumped in without thinking—SPLASH! Instead of gleaming, he fizzled and sizzled, his greed backfiring on him!
With the Tsar’s mishap, Ivan became the new ruler of the kingdom. The Princess giggled, her laughter echoing like sweet silver bells, and they celebrated together.
