On a sunny hillside where clover sweetly scented the air and dewdrops sparkled like tiny diamonds, lived a curious girl named Fiona. Every time a rainbow danced across the sky, the children in the village would leap from their homes, shouting, “THE GOLD! THE GOLD!” They raced through muddy fields, trying to catch the shimmering colors. But Fiona? She would sit quietly on her garden bench, her chin resting in her hands, mesmerized by the rainbow’s magic.
One day, a rainbow brighter than any Fiona had ever seen stretched across the sky like a brilliant brushstroke. It was so wide it seemed to touch the very tips of the mountains! The village buzzed with excitement, but Fiona remained on her bench, her heart fluttering with wonder.
Then, out of nowhere, a tiny voice squeaked up at her. “Why don’t you run?” Startled, Fiona looked down to see a wee Leprechaun standing on her garden wall, his green coat sparkling in the sunlight. “The rainbow begins right here in your garden!” he said, his eyes twinkling with mischief.
“Really?” Fiona’s curiosity piqued. The Leprechaun nodded and whispered, “Check the flower bed!”
Fiona knelt down, her fingers digging into the soft earth until she felt something cool and hard. With excitement bubbling inside her, she uncovered a small clay pot. As she opened it, the sunlight hit the treasure inside, revealing a pile of gleaming gold coins that clinked and sparkled like tiny stars!
The Leprechaun danced with joy. “You’re the first to see this in three hundred years! The treasure was here all along!”
As the sun began to set, the other children trudged home, tired and muddy, while Fiona, with her pockets jingling, skipped inside to help her family, a secret smile on her lips.
