In the glittering palace of Emperor Akbar, where golden chandeliers twinkled like stars, a loud commotion filled the air one sunny afternoon. Through the grand doors burst two men, their voices booming like thunderclaps! “It’s MINE!” shouted the oil merchant, his face as red as a ripe tomato. “No, it’s MINE!” bellowed the customer, tugging fiercely at a leather bag filled with coins. They both pulled with all their might, while the courtiers watched wide-eyed, eager for the showdown to unfold.
“I was pouring oil, and this sneaky thief snatched my bag!” huffed the oil merchant. The customer shot back, “I left MY bag down, and this scammer grabbed it without a second thought!” The court fell silent, everyone leaning in to catch the truth. But alas, no one had witnessed the event! It was a classic ‘he-said, she-said’ puzzle. The wise Emperor Akbar turned to his clever minister, Birbal, whose eyes twinkled with mischief.
“Bring me a bowl of water!” Birbal commanded, leaving the courtiers whispering in confusion. A moment later, a servant returned with a large bowl filled with shimmering, clear water, and all eyes were glued to Birbal. With a gentle splash, he lowered the leather bag into the bowl. A hush fell over the court, hearts racing with anticipation.
Suddenly, magical colors began to swirl and dance on the water’s surface, sparkling like rainbows! “Look!” Birbal exclaimed, pointing excitedly. “This bag is leaking oil! It has been used for years to carry oil, and the evidence is right here!”
The oil merchant’s eyes twinkled with joy, while the customer paled, trembling like a leaf in the wind. “This bag belongs to the oil merchant!” declared Birbal, standing tall and proud.
Emperor Akbar’s voice boomed, “Take this dishonest man to prison at once!” Cheers erupted in the court, celebrating Birbal’s cleverness. The oil merchant, tears of relief shining in his eyes, bowed deeply, grateful for the truth. As the guards led the customer away, the emperor smiled at Birbal. In that moment, everyone felt the magic of truth shining bright, just like the dazzling colors that had danced in the bowl.
