Miko and the Crocodile River

Moral Stories

A heartwarming moral story with a lesson that stays with you forever.

In a vibrant jungle buzzing with the sounds of chirping birds and the rustling of leaves, lived a little mouse deer named Miko. He was the tiniest creature around, with delicate hooves that danced gracefully on the ground and bright, twinkling eyes that sparkled with mischief. Miko was not just small; he was clever and full of joy, which led him into all sorts of exciting adventures!

One sunny morning, Miko found himself at the edge of a wide, shimmering river. His nose twitched with excitement as he spotted the most delicious mango trees on the other side, their golden fruits hanging like treasure just waiting for him! But between Miko and those yummy mangoes were the crocodiles—big, scaly creatures with sharp teeth that glinted in the sunlight.

Miko took a deep breath, feeling a flutter of fear in his tummy. But then, a brilliant idea popped into his head! With a cheeky grin, he shouted in his loudest voice, “CROCODILES! The King of the Jungle has sent me to count you! Line up from this bank to the other!” The crocodiles, feeling flattered and excited, eagerly lined up, their long bodies forming a bridge over the water.

Miko hopped onto the first crocodile’s back, counting joyfully, “One!” HOP! “Two!” HOP! “Three!” HOP HOP HOP! He bounded across the crocodiles, laughing and feeling like a superhero. Finally, he landed triumphantly on the far bank, eyes shining with delight. “Thank you for the ride!” he called back, giggling.

But then came trouble! The crocodiles were furious! “You tricked us!” they roared, splashing water everywhere. Miko’s heart raced as he realized he’d been too carefree. The very last crocodile lunged forward, snapping its jaws. SNAP! Miko felt a sharp tug on his tail but managed to scamper up the nearest mango tree just in time.

As he munched on the sweet, juicy mangoes, he couldn’t help but chuckle at his cleverness. Yet deep down, he knew he had learned something important. From that day on, Miko enjoyed his adventures with a little more care, and even with the tiniest tail in the jungle, he always wore it proudly—his reminder that being clever is wonderful, but wisdom is the true treasure.
