In the lively kingdom of Vijayanagara, a magnificent ship sailed into the busy port, its giant sails flapping like colorful wings. Onboard were stunning horses from faraway Persia, their coats sparkling like jewels in the sun! The king's ministers rushed around, excitedly buying the most beautiful horses with flowing manes and sparkling eyes, filling their stables with the finest grains and sweet hay.
Watching this frenzy was Tenali Raman, a clever man with a twinkle in his eye. As the chief minister patted his shiny new horse and boasted that Arabian horses were the best, Tenali chuckled to himself. “I don’t think so!” he said, surprising everyone. “Prove it!” challenged the chief minister, a glint in his eye. And just like that, a grand race was set for the following week!
The news spread through the city like fire! Ministers trained their beautiful horses, feeding them the best food and polishing their coats until they sparkled. But on race day, Tenali arrived riding an old, thin horse that looked like it had just stepped out of a fairy tale. The ministers laughed, pointing at the pitiful sight, but Tenali had a trick up his sleeve. He held a long bamboo stick with a big bunch of fresh, green grass tied to the end.
“Ready, set, GO!” bellowed the king. At that moment, Tenali’s horse, smelling the delicious grass, roared to life! With legs pumping like lightning, it dashed down the track, zooming past the fancy Arabian horses as if they were standing still. The crowd gasped, then erupted into cheers when Tenali’s horse crossed the finish line first, leaving the others far behind!
As the hungry horse munched on the tasty grass, Tenali beamed, his eyes sparkling with joy. The ministers exchanged glances, realizing that sometimes, it’s not the shine of riches that leads to victory but the heart's true desire to achieve something great!
