High above a sparkling valley, where sunlight tickled the tops of trees and fluffy clouds danced playfully, there lived a spirited boy named Kintaro. His home was a cozy hut on a magnificent mountain, wrapped in lush green and surrounded by the sounds of nature. Kintaro’s father, a brave samurai, had gone to the stars, leaving him with his loving mother. Though they had very little, Kintaro was rich in something magical — incredible strength!
With a laugh as bright as the sun, Kintaro played with the bears that roamed the mountainside. He would leap and tumble, wrestling them with joy, and they loved to return for more fun! Together, they would race through misty meadows, Kintaro riding a big, furry bear. SPLASH! He would hop onto a giant carp in the river, sending water flying as playful monkeys and curious rabbits joined the splashy celebration. But deep inside, Kintaro felt a little tug, like a flower yearning for sunlight. He longed to be a samurai, just like his father, and protect what was right.
One crisp autumn morning, the sound of CLIP-CLOP echoed through the air. A shimmering group of riders appeared, led by the mighty samurai, Minamoto no Yorimitsu! The animals watched in wonder as Kintaro, in the midst of wrestling a bear, caught Yorimitsu's sparkling gaze. "Would you like to become a samurai?" he asked. Kintaro's heart raced with excitement! He scratched his furry friend behind the ears and made a brave choice to follow his dream down the mountain.
Training to become a samurai was hard work, but Kintaro poured his laughter and strength into every swing of his sword. Soon, he earned the title of one of Yorimitsu’s legendary Four Retainers. Together, they faced fierce demons that haunted the capital, and Kintaro’s joyful spirit shone bright, chasing away darkness just like he did with the bears.
Even after becoming a great samurai, Kintaro never forgot his mountain home. On clear, starry nights, if you look closely, you might just see Kintaro’s shadow among the trees, wrestling bears and celebrating the freedom of his wild spirit while standing strong in his samurai armor.
