The air around them was filled with the delicious aroma of steaming rice and spicy curries, inviting all—travelers, workers, and even furry friends—to feast until they were full. One sunny afternoon, a quiet monk appeared at the rich man’s gate, holding a simple, empty bowl. This monk was the Silent Buddha, a wise being who radiated peace and kindness. A fiery pit burst open from the ground, flames swirling like wild dragons! The servant stumbled back, eyes wide with fear.
Determined, the rich man sent another servant, but FWOOOM! The flames roared again, chasing the servant away with a frightened scream. The rich man peered out and saw a dark figure above the pit—Mara, the god of death, with icy eyes and a wicked grin. He wanted to stop the man’s kindness, knowing that love made hearts strong and brave.
But remembering all the people he had helped, the rich man felt a spark of courage deep within. “You cannot stop me!” he declared boldly. As he stepped towards the fiery pit, the flames swirled and parted, revealing a magnificent lotus flower glowing with magic! He stepped onto the flower, cool water rippling beneath him, and glided across the fiery gap.
With each step, light surrounded him, leading him to the monk. With joyful hands, he filled the monk’s bowl with food, and just then, the dark figure of Mara faded away, defeated by the strength of love. The Silent Buddha smiled and blessed the rich man, showering him with golden lotus pollen that sparkled like stars.
That evening, the rich man gathered everyone around him, sharing the tale of his adventure. His eyes twinkled with excitement as he reminded them that kindness is a powerful light, guiding us through even the fiercest storms.
