In a bright, colorful forest, four amazing friends lived near a sparkling blue lake. There was Deer, who could run like a speedy breeze, Crow with his sharp eyes, Mouse, the tiny nibbler, and wise old Turtle, who moved slowly but thoughtfully. Each evening, as the sun painted the sky with shades of pink and orange, they gathered by the lake to share stories filled with laughter and dreams, making magic in their little world.
One sunny morning, panic spread like a gust of wind when Crow flew down with his feathers all ruffled. “Friends! Friends!” he cawed nervously. “Deer is missing! I can’t find her!” He soared high above the treetops and spotted her far away, trapped in a tricky hunter's net! Without wasting a second, he rushed back. “Mouse, we need your sharp teeth! Turtle, stay here; you’re too slow!” But Turtle shook his head firmly. “I may be slow, but I’m coming!”
Together, they raced toward Deer. Mouse zipped across the grass like a tiny rocket and reached her first. “Don’t worry, I’ll help!” she squeaked, gnawing at the ropes with her strong teeth. Snip, snip! Just as they were about to free her, Crow cried out, “The hunter is coming!”
With a final snip, Deer was free! She leaped into the trees like a shooting star while Crow and Mouse darted away. But poor Turtle was still waddling along, unaware of the hunter. The hunter caught sight of Turtle and growled, “Got you!” He scooped her up, planning a turtle soup dinner.
Hearing the commotion, Deer bravely limped back, pretending her leg was hurt to distract the hunter. The hunter’s eyes widened with surprise as he dropped his stick and chased after her! Quick as a flash, Mouse chewed through Turtle’s ropes, freeing her just in time. “You’re free!” she squeaked.
“Follow me!” crowed Crow as he led Deer and Turtle through the twisty, thick part of the forest where the hunter couldn’t follow. When the hunter returned, panting and confused, he found only a chewed rope. “Where did they go?” he grumbled.
That evening, as the stars twinkled above, the four friends reunited by the lake, hugging and laughing. They knew they could always count on each other, no matter how fast or slow they were, and that every friend has something special to share when it really counts.
