In a cozy village where the hills rolled like fluffy green waves, there lived an old farmer named Kishan. His hands were tough from years of working in the fields, but his heart was as warm and bright as the sun. Yet, Kishan had a secret: he couldn’t read a single word! Not a single one!
One sunny afternoon, as Kishan hummed a happy tune, he spotted the district officer sitting under a big, leafy tree. The officer wore shiny round spectacles that sparkled like stars, and he was deeply focused on a letter. Kishan watched in awe, his eyes wide as the officer laughed at one part and frowned at another. “Those must be magical glasses!” he exclaimed, tugging at his nephew’s sleeve. “They help him see the letters!”
With excitement bubbling inside him, Kishan stomped all the way to the busy market, dreaming of reading. STOMP STOMP STOMP! In a little shop overflowing with spectacles, he declared, “I need reading spectacles!” The kind shopkeeper smiled and handed him a large book along with several pairs of glasses.
Kishan hurriedly put on the first pair. He squinted hard, but all he saw were silly squiggles! “Nothing!” he huffed, shaking his head. He tried the second pair, twisting and turning the book, but still saw nothing but a jumble of letters! Frustrated, he sighed. “Can you read?” the shopkeeper asked gently. Kishan puffed up his chest, “Of course not! That’s why I need the spectacles!”
Realization washed over Kishan like a sudden rainstorm, and he walked home with a heavy heart. Inside his cozy house, laughter from his grandchildren filled the air. Gathering his courage, he said, “My dear little ones, teach me my letters!” Their faces lit up with joy, and they dove into an exciting adventure of learning together.
Day by day, Kishan practiced, soaking up knowledge like a thirsty flower. Soon, the letters began to dance off the pages, swirling and twirling into his heart! His laughter rang out in the village as he read stories to his grandchildren, his eyes sparkling with delight. Kishan discovered that the true magic was not in the spectacles, but in the wonderful journey of learning together and the love they shared.
