The night was as dark as a dragon’s cave, not a single star twinkling in the sky! Vikram shivered as he walked down a forgotten path, the air chilly around him. “You know, Krish is the biggest daydreamer in the kingdom!” chirped Betaal, the playful spirit on Vikram's shoulder.
Krish worked for a wealthy man named Aparjeet but spent his days dreaming of crowns and cheering crowds. “Oh, how I wish I were a king!” he sighed often. One sunny afternoon, while napping under a fig tree, he drifted into the wildest dream yet—he was now the boss, and Aparjeet was his servant! “Aparjeet!” he commanded, “Go water the royal garden—NOW!” But as if on cue, Aparjeet, passing by, heard his name and gave Krish a friendly smack! “You’re FIRED!” he roared, and Krish found himself wandering aimlessly, feeling lost and sad.
Just then, he spotted a wise old saint under a shimmering banyan tree. With a twinkling smile, the saint said, “I can help you. Take this magical mantra. Chant it every morning, and your last dream will come true!” Krish’s heart raced—this was his chance! The next morning, he chanted the mantra and—BOOM! He woke up in a magnificent mansion with golden walls and servants bowing to him. But wait! They whispered and giggled behind his back, their eyes twinkling with mischief instead of respect.
Determined to find happiness, Krish dreamed of marrying a beautiful princess. The next day, he woke up beside a lovely wife, but she barely noticed him, lost in a world of jewels. Feeling even sadder, Krish decided to become a merchant in a bustling market. POOF! He found himself in a colorful bazaar, but the other merchants acted like he was a shadow.
With a heavy heart, Krish returned to the wise saint. He knelt down, tears in his eyes. “Please, take back your gift!” Vikram listened intently, and Betaal asked curiously, “Why would anyone return something so wonderful?” Vikram pondered, “Without real friendships, all the riches mean nothing.”
The saint smiled knowingly. Krish, though surrounded by amazing things, had learned that true happiness blooms from love and respect, not from dreams alone. And as Vikram and Betaal turned to leave, the saint’s laughter filled the air, a sweet reminder that the real treasures in life are the friends we cherish and the kindness we share.
