Once upon a time, in a sparkling forest filled with tall, swaying trees and babbling brooks, a lonely Donkey stumbled upon something truly magical — a shimmering Lion's skin, glistening under the bright sun. His eyes widened with excitement, and a clever idea popped into his head. “If I wear this, everyone will be frightened of me! I’ll finally be special!” With a goofy grin, the Donkey slipped the heavy skin over his back. It felt scratchy but magical, like wearing a cloak of bravery.
Taking a deep breath, he pranced along the forest path, strutting like a mighty king. As he stepped into the sunlight, the forest buzzed with anticipation. Suddenly, a fluffy Rabbit spotted him and squeaked in fear, darting away like a shooting star! A graceful Deer leaped into the bushes, and even a grumpy old Wild Boar ran off in a panic! The Donkey beamed with glee. “Look at me!” he thought, feeling powerful and important.
But when he spotted a clever Fox lounging beneath a tree, he felt a twinge of doubt. “Why isn’t he scared?” the Donkey wondered, puffing out his chest. Determined to sound fierce, he opened his mouth, but instead of a fearsome roar, a loud, silly “Eee-haw!” rang out across the forest! The Fox burst into laughter. “Oh, dear Donkey! If only you had stayed quiet, you might have scared me longer! But a lion's skin can't hide a donkey's voice!”
Embarrassment washed over the Donkey as the other animals giggled and whispered. He realized that no matter how grand his disguise, he was still just a Donkey inside. Feeling a bit sad but wiser, he slowly removed the Lion's skin and decided it was better to be a happy Donkey than a frightened pretender. With a cheerful heart, he trotted back into the woods, embracing who he truly was. From that day on, he made many friends, bringing joy and laughter as the silly Donkey everyone cherished.
