In a small, dusty town, where the sun shone brightly but the crops were thin, a terrible famine sneaked in like a shadow. The fields were dry, and the townsfolk grew hungrier by the day. Among them was a clever little dog named Chitranga, with a belly that growled like a thunderstorm. He watched the children share tiny crumbs that floated away with the breeze, and his furry friends grew thinner, some disappearing into the night.
One day, with his stomach rumbling like a drum, Chitranga declared, “I can’t stay here! I must find food!” With determination shining in his eyes, he set off on an adventure, bounding over sparkling hills and through whispering forests, dreaming of tasty meals.
After a long journey, Chitranga reached a magnificent city that sparkled like a treasure chest. The streets buzzed with cheerful people, and delicious aromas danced in the air. One golden evening, he spotted a grand house with its back door wide open, as if inviting him in. Chitranga’s heart raced, and he dashed inside to discover a magical kitchen filled with piles of rice, juicy meats, and fluffy bread. He gobbled and gobbled, feeling his belly grow round and happy.
Just as he was about to leave, he heard a loud growl! A gang of city dogs appeared, their eyes blazing and teeth sharp as knives. “OUTSIDER! GET HIM!” they howled, circling around like a whirlwind. Chitranga’s heart raced as he tried to escape. He zig-zagged through the streets, dodging sharp teeth and angry barks, until he finally found refuge in a quiet park.
Exhausted, he collapsed under a leafy tree, wishing for the comfort of home. After what felt like forever, Chitranga made it back to his dusty town. His friends rushed to him with eager eyes. “What was it like? Did you find food? Were the people nice?” they asked, bouncing with excitement.
Chitranga sat tall and smiled. “Oh, the food was amazing, and the houses were grand!” His heart swelled with love for his friends. “But the city dogs were fierce! They chased me and snapped at my tail! I’d choose my cozy streets and my loving friends over a stranger’s feast any day!”
As he lay in the warm sun, surrounded by his beloved friends, Chitranga felt happier than ever, knowing that home was the best treasure of all.
