One sunny day, in a big palace, Emperor Akbar was waiting. A happy astronomer ran in. His eyes sparkled with joy. He held a scroll, like a magician with a magic trick.
“Your Majesty!” he shouted. “I have big news! The world is ROUND, like a big ball!”
Akbar’s eyes shone with wonder. “Wow! If someone travels straight, can they come back?”
“Yes, Your Majesty!” the astronomer said with a big smile.
“Great!” Akbar clapped his hands. His crown jingled like a bell. “But how long would it take?”
The astronomer thought hard. “It could take many years! There are oceans, mountains, and jungles.”
Suddenly, everyone started talking loudly. “Twenty-five years!” shouted one man, waving his arms.
“FIFTY!” yelled another, his voice loud like thunder.
“Just eighty days!” said a third, jumping up and down like a happy frog.
Amid the noise, Birbal, the wise advisor, stood quietly. He had a clever smile. Akbar turned to him. “Birbal, what do you think?”
“I was thinking, Your Majesty,” Birbal replied.
Akbar leaned in, excited. “How long?”
“One day!” Birbal said, his voice cheerful.
Everyone went silent, surprised. “ONE DAY?!” Akbar gasped. “That’s too short!”
“True, Your Majesty,” Birbal said calmly. “But if you travel as fast as the Sun, it takes one day!”
Then everyone laughed like happy birds. Akbar laughed so hard, his turban wobbled.
“Birbal, you made a hard question easy!” Akbar said, smiling big.
In the palace, everyone learned that thinking in a new way can help us find answers.
