Once upon a time in the colorful kingdom of Hindustan, there lived a grand emperor named Akbar. He sat proudly on his golden throne, his smile shining as bright as a sunny day. “Birbal,” he declared, his voice echoing like a happy song, “my people love me! They listen to me from their hearts!”
Birbal, the emperor’s clever friend, chuckled softly. “Oh, Your Majesty, maybe they listen out of love, but perhaps there’s a sprinkle of fear in there too!” Akbar’s eyes widened like saucers. “Fear? How could you say that! I will show you!”
With a determined twinkle in his eye, Akbar called out to his kingdom, “Listen, dear citizens! While I am away hunting for three days, each household must bring a pot of fresh milk and pour it into the grand tub in the courtyard!” Then, with a flourish, he rode off on his magnificent horse, excitement bubbling inside him like a pot of boiling stew.
Three days later, Akbar returned, dreaming of sweet, creamy milk. But when he peeked into the tub, his heart sank! It was filled with plain, boring water! “Oh no! Everyone must have thought, ‘My little pot won’t make a difference!’”
Confused, he turned to Birbal, who simply smiled. “Let’s try again, Your Majesty. This time announce that you will check the tub yourself!” Nodding, Akbar felt his excitement return.
After another adventure in the woods, he hurried back to the courtyard. His heart raced as he looked into the tub. What a sight! It was overflowing with the richest, creamiest milk, shimmering like stars in the night sky!
Akbar gasped, realizing that when his people knew he would check, they brought their very best! With a wise smile, he understood that love and a little responsibility could work magic. From then on, he ruled with kindness and the wisdom that everyone thrived when they felt both loved and accountable.
