In the sun-kissed land of ancient India, two friends, Ravi and Mohan, were ready for a grand adventure! They were both merchants with vibrant caravans filled with sparkling treasures and fragrant spices, eager to cross the great Waterless Desert. But as they stood at the edge of the shimmering sands, they realized that traveling together would slow them down. With a wave and a promise to meet on the other side, Ravi set off first, his heart thumping with excitement.
As Ravi marched bravely into the vast desert, the golden sand sparkled like tiny diamonds. But halfway through, the sun blazed overhead, and he spotted a group of cheerful travelers approaching. Their carts were overflowing with glistening water and blooming lotus flowers. “Throw away your water!” their leader called with a friendly grin. “The oasis is just ahead!” Ravi, caught up in their kindness, ordered his men to toss out all their precious water. “Onward!” he shouted, feeling proud of his bold choice.
But as the sun began to sink beneath the horizon, Ravi realized the truth—a cruel trick had been played! The friendly travelers were actually mischievous spirits! When night fell, they revealed their true forms and swooped down, leaving no one behind to tell the tale.
Later, Mohan set out on the same path, his heart filled with caution. “Listen closely!” he told his caravan. “This desert is filled with tricks. We must be careful!” As they journeyed through the swirling sands, the same cheerful travelers appeared, beckoning them to toss away their water. But Mohan remembered Ravi and studied them closely. Their eyes sparkled with mischief, and Mohan declared firmly, “We will keep our water!”
The travelers' smiles faded, and they vanished into the dunes like a puff of smoke. That evening, as the sun painted the sky with oranges and purples, Mohan stumbled upon the remnants of Ravi’s caravan—broken carts and scattered bones whispered a sad story. Instead of fear, his heart filled with determination. They set guards around their camp, and at dawn, they carefully gathered the treasures from the ruins.
With newfound wisdom, Mohan and his caravan continued their journey, arriving safely back home, richer than they ever dreamed. They learned that listening to the whispers of caution can help one navigate even the trickiest of paths, leading them safely to the other side.
