In a dazzling royal garden filled with blooming flowers and twinkling fountains, Emperor Akbar strolled under the warm sun. The sweet scent of jasmine filled the air, and the birds chirped a happy tune. But today, Akbar had a curious question bubbling in his mind. With a cheeky grin, he turned to his wise friend, Birbal, and asked, “Birbal, who is greater — me or Lord Indra, the King of Heaven?”
The courtiers nearby gasped, their eyes wide like saucers! Oh no, this question could lead to trouble! If Birbal chose Indra, Akbar might get angry. If he chose Akbar, the emperor might ask for proof that was impossible! Everyone held their breath, waiting to see how Birbal would dance out of this tricky situation.
With a twinkle in his eye and a calm smile, Birbal began, “Your Majesty, this very question once puzzled the mighty Lord Brahma, the Creator of the Universe! He was so curious that he made two magical statues — one of you and one of Lord Indra! He placed them on a glowing golden scale high in the sky!”
Akbar leaned forward, excitement sparkling in his eyes. “And then what happened?”
“When the scales tipped, your statue was heavier!” Birbal paused, letting the suspense build. “It sank down to Earth, and that’s why you are the ruler here! Lord Indra’s statue floated high into the heavens because it was lighter!”
The courtiers sighed in relief, and Birbal added with a grin, “Each ruler is the greatest in his own world, but only your weight can bring the heavenly scale down to Earth!”
Suddenly, Akbar burst into laughter, clapping his hands with delight. The birds took flight, their colorful feathers swirling in the air. Everyone in the garden learned that sometimes, a clever answer can light up the day and satisfy even the most curious heart.
