In the lively city of Benares, there was a magnificent bull elephant named Ganesha. He was enormous, larger than a house, with a trunk that could reach the tallest treetops. Every morning, he feasted on heaps of sweet rice that sparkled like treasures. But not far from the stables, a scruffy little dog named Benny was sniffing the air, his tummy rumbling like a distant thunderstorm. Poor Benny was thin, with ribs poking out beneath his dull coat, and he longed for a tasty meal.
One brave day, Benny tiptoed into the stables while Ganesha munched away. As grains fell from Ganesha's great mouth, Benny’s eyes widened, and he quickly gobbled them up. To his surprise, Ganesha didn't shoo him away. Instead, the gentle giant looked down with curious eyes and let even more rice tumble down. Every day after that, Benny came to visit, and with each delicious meal, he grew stronger and shinier, his tail wagging with joy, like a little flag in the breeze. They played together, with Benny nipping at Ganesha's trunk, and their laughter filled the stables like the sweetest music.
But one sunny day, a man saw Benny and decided he wanted the beautiful little dog for himself. With a handful of coins, he took Benny far away to a village. When Ganesha realized his friend was gone, he stopped eating, standing still and sad. His bright eyes lost their sparkle, and the keeper grew worried, saying, “The elephant is heartbroken!”
The wise king heard of Ganesha's sorrow and summoned his clever minister, who quickly understood the problem. “We must find Benny and bring him back!” he declared. The king announced a royal decree that anyone who held Benny would be fined! When the man saw the notice, he released Benny without hesitation. The little dog raced back, dashing like a shooting star!
As Benny leaped into the stables, Ganesha let out a joyful trumpet, his heart bursting with happiness. Gently, he lifted Benny high with his strong trunk, placing him atop his great head. Benny's tail wagged so fast it looked like it might take off! The king smiled, watching their reunion under the bright blue sky. In that magical moment, the elephant and the little dog showed everyone that true friendship can bloom in the most unexpected places, proving that love knows no boundaries.
